In short. Most beach bars in Zandvoort are only there during the season. NIUS Beach House, on the south beach by beach access 5, is open every day all year round from 9:00 to 22:00, in autumn and winter too. If in doubt, it’s always worth calling before you set off.
Seasonal and year-round pavilions
There are two kinds of beach pavilion on the Dutch coast. Seasonal pavilions are there from spring to autumn. Year-round pavilions stay put and are open in winter too. So if you’re heading to the beach in November or February, you need to know which kind you’re dealing with. Check the pavilion’s website or give them a call.
NIUS: every day, all year round
NIUS Beach House is a year-round pavilion. It is open every day from 9:00 to 22:00.
- Breakfast: 9:00 to 12:00
- Lunch: 11:30 to 16:00
- Dinner: from 17:00
- Drinks and cake: all day
What it’s like in winter
In winter the fire is lit in NIUS Noord and Zuid, and through the glass you look out to sea. The beach is empty and the sun sets early: in December as early as half past four. Many people combine a walk with a late lunch or an early dinner.
From 16 September to 30 April, Billies Sauna is on the beach at NIUS.

NIUS is on the south beach, on Boulevard Paulus Loot, at beach access 5. You can park at Parkeerterrein De Zuid, less than three minutes’ walk away.
