NIUS beach pavilion · Zandvoort By the sea, all year round.

The first terrace days. Breakfast in the sun, coat within reach.

Feet in the sand, a sunbed by the sea and a sun that doesn’t dip into the water until late.

First a bracing walk on the beach, then warm up by the fire. With soup, a glass of red and a view of the sea.

The fire is lit. The sea outside, warm light inside.

What brings you here?

Spring by the sea

The terrace doors open again.

The light comes back and the beach still belongs to the walkers. You celebrate the first coat-free day outside, and if the wind turns after all, you’re back inside in no time.

    Sit outside

Five terraces, so there’s always a side out of the wind.

  2. Hands reaching for shared dishes on the table

Summer by the sea

Bare feet, long evenings.

The beach is full of sunbeds, the terrace runs right onto the sand and the sun doesn’t set until around ten. Come early for breakfast or stay until dark.

Autumn by the sea

First a bracing walk, then warm up.

This is when the beach is at its finest: empty, plenty of sky, and the sun sets before dinner. Come in with your coat zipped up and your hair all over the place. We’ll take care of the rest.

  1. A walker on the empty beach as the sun sinks into the sea
    Blow away the cobwebs

Walk south: that’s where the promenade ends and there’s nothing but beach and dunes.

  2. Two friends chatting by the open fire at NIUS
    Warm up

In NIUS Noord or Zuid around the fire, with soup, a chai latte or a glass of red.

  3. A pot of mussels with a glass of white wine
    Pull up a chair

Stay for dinner. From five o’clock we serve the dinner menu, while outside the sun sinks into the sea.

Winter by the sea

The beach is empty. We’re open.

Most pavilions have been taken down by now. Here the fire burns in NIUS Noord and Zuid, and through the glass you look out on a sea you never get to see in July.

The sea in front of you. Good food on the table. Lovely people around you.

NIUS Beach House is on the south beach of Zandvoort, a short train ride from Amsterdam. Most beach bars close in the autumn. Not us: we’re here every day, from coffee after your beach walk to dinner by the fire.

In summer you sit with your feet in the sand. In winter the fire burns in NIUS Noord and Zuid, and you look out to sea through the glass.
