Where can you sit by an open fire at the seaside in Zandvoort?

In short. At NIUS Beach House on the south beach of Zandvoort you can sit by the open fire in winter, in NIUS Noord or NIUS Zuid, surrounded by glass and with a view of the sea. NIUS is open every day all year round from 9:00 to 22:00, for coffee, soup, lunch, drinks and dinner.

Two fires, glass all round

NIUS Beach House has two indoor spaces with an open fire: NIUS Noord and NIUS Zuid. In winter the fire is lit there. You’re surrounded by glass, so from your seat you look across the beach to the sea. On a stormy day, it’s the best view of the year.

What comes to the table by the fire

The menu changes with the seasons. This autumn’s menu includes:

To warm up: Roasted Pumpkin Soup, glühwein, a chai latte and a Signature Hot Chocolate with amaretto.
For dinner: mussels in yellow curry and a Steak ‘Café de Paris’.
To go with it: Winter Sangria, and a Warm Apple Crumble Pie for pudding.

When you can come

NIUS is open every day all year round from 9:00 to 22:00:

Breakfast: 9:00 to 12:00
Lunch: 11:30 to 16:00
Drinks: all day
Dinner: from 17:00

On public holidays NIUS is open from 9:00 to 17:00, with no dinner.

First, get outside

The fire is at its best after a walk. Walk south along the beach, to where the promenade ends and there’s nothing left but beach and dunes. Or book a session first at Billies Sauna, which stands on the beach by NIUS from 16 September to 30 April.

NIUS is on the south beach, on Boulevard Paulus Loot, at beach access 5. You can book online; you’re always welcome to drop in.
