Why it matters so much when you come
In Zandvoort there is more than five hours’ difference in sunset time between the shortest and the longest day. In winter, at four o’clock you’re just catching the last light on the beach. In summer, you’re still sitting outside at half past nine.

The times in the table are ordinary clock times, with summer time and winter time already taken into account. That’s why the time jumps by an hour at the end of March and the end of October.

- A bracing walk in autumn and winter: set off well before sunset, so you walk back in the most beautiful light.
- Dinner out in summer: book for around eight, and you’ll be at your table as the sun goes down.
