Direct by train from Amsterdam
Zandvoort is the seaside resort that’s easiest to reach by train from Amsterdam. From Amsterdam Centraal the train runs direct, via Haarlem, to Zandvoort aan Zee station. The journey takes about half an hour. Check the NS (Dutch Railways) journey planner or app for current departure times; on busy summer days and during events there are sometimes extra trains.
From the station to the beach
From the station to the promenade is about a ten-minute walk. If you want the quieter south beach, walk south along the promenade. NIUS Beach House is on Boulevard Paulus Loot, by beach access 5: just over a kilometre from the station, about a twenty-minute walk.
Walk down the beach access path and you’ll already see the round roofs.
What you can do there

Heading home
For the way back, allow twenty minutes to walk to the station, and check the NS app for train times. In December the sun sets at around half past four; in June and July not until after nine.
