Working at NIUS · for parents
A first part-time job by the sea.
Your son or daughter wants to earn some money, and you want to know where they’ll be working. We understand. Below is how things work at NIUS.

A place that’s there all year round
Most beach bars in Zandvoort close in the autumn. Not NIUS: we’re open every day, summer and winter. So a part-time job here isn’t six weeks in the summer holidays and then nothing. Anyone who enjoys it can simply stay on alongside school.
A permanent team around them
NIUS runs on a core of permanent staff. In the busy months, school pupils and students join them. On every shift a shift leader keeps an eye on everything, so a beginner always knows who to turn to.
What they learn
Waiting tables teaches things that school doesn’t cover: approaching a stranger in a friendly way, staying calm when it’s busy, keeping to agreements and working with people of all ages. That will look good on a CV later, but more importantly, you’ll notice it at home.
How applying works
No CV and no cover letter. Your child chooses a role, says when they’re available and leaves a name and phone number. We then get in touch with them. We discuss working hours, the rota and pay in the first conversation.
