In short. Yes, there is a sauna on the beach in Zandvoort. Billies Beach Sauna is at NIUS Beach House by beach access 5 from 16 September to 30 April. A session lasts 90 minutes and the North Sea is your cold plunge. You book with Billies.
How it works
A beach sauna is simpler than a spa, and that’s where its charm lies. You book a 90-minute session. During that time you alternate between the heat of the sauna and the cold of the sea.
- Warm up. In the sauna, looking out over the beach and the sea.
- Into the sea. The North Sea is the cold plunge. In winter the water is cold, so a short dip is enough.
- Again. Most people do two or three rounds.

What to bring
Swimwear, a towel and something warm for afterwards. When you book, ask Billies what’s available on site.
Warming up afterwards
The sauna stands on the beach at NIUS Beach House. You’re welcome there before and after your session, and in winter the fire is lit. If you want to be sure of a place, book your table for a time at least two hours after your session starts.
Why only in the colder half of the year
The sauna is there from 16 September to 30 April. In summer, that spot is taken by sunbeds.
